About Cortez Hill
Cortez Hill is a historic area within Downtown San Diego mostly known for the El Cortez Hotel. Located in the northeast area of the city, Cortez Hill is popular with young professionals who work nearby and families. Cortez Hill has unique buildings with historic, Victorian styles that are still standing. The El Cortez hotel closed in 1978 and converted from a popular hotel to condominiums in 2004.
